Spain vs Spain + Portugal (15 days, mid-June) — itinerary feedback?
Our take
Hey, fellow travelers! I’m planning an epic 15-day adventure in mid-June, flying from the US into Barcelona and out of Lisbon. My interests include exploring vibrant food scenes, walkable cities, and rich history, all while avoiding a rushed experience. I’ve outlined two options: Option A focuses solely on Spain, while Option B combines Spain and Portugal. I’d love your feedback on whether Option B feels too rushed and if you’d recommend prioritizing Granada over other cities.
Hi, I’ve been reading past threads, but I’m still unsure how to structure this trip and would really appreciate some feedback.
Trip details:
- ~15 days total (mid-June, somewhat flexible)
- Flying from the US (likely into Barcelona, out of Lisbon)
- Budget: mid-range (mix of hotels + occasional nicer stays)
- Interests: food, walkable cities, history, some architecture, not big on rushing or checking boxes
What I’ve researched so far:
I came up with two rough options:
Option A (Spain only):
- Barcelona (4 days)
- Madrid (3 days)
- Seville (3–4 days)
- Granada (2 days)
Option B (Spain + Portugal):
- Barcelona (3–4 days)
- Seville (3 days)
- Lisbon (3 days)
- Porto (2–3 days)
My questions:
- Does Option B feel too rushed given the travel time between Spain and Portugal?
- If sticking to Spain, would you prioritize Granada over somewhere like Valencia or more time in Madrid?
- Any adjustments you’d make to improve pacing?
