Cote D'Azur - France Itinerary
Our take
Hi! I was just hoping on some thoughts on my itinerary for May. We really like strolling through old towns, nature, good food (but not too expensive), gardens/infrastructure etc., and we wanted to do one boat ride as well as some kayaking/adventuring/hiking by the coast, good food. We are going to be in the area for 8 days. We will be based out of Nice and taking the bus/train everywhere, but are not opposed to renting a car for 1-2 days.
We have 2 days not listed on this itinerary and were wondering if it would be a better idea to split up some of the towns or add more as we have received conflicting opinions on how time we need to spend in some of these areas.
Currently we have the following:
*Nice
*Villefranche + Cap-Ferrat
*Eze + Beaulieu
*Antibes → Sun Market (optional: + Juan-les-Pins/ Cap d’Antibes - boat / Plage de la Garoupe)
*Menton (optional: + Saint Anges)
*Monaco + Roquebrune
*Saint-Paul + Tourrettes
I would also love any recommendations on good deals for 7-8 day passes for transit that may be available/used for similar itineraries. Thanks in advance!

- Advice needed - Itinerary French RivieraHi everyone! I’m planning a trip to the South of France for late June/early July and would love some advice. Ideally I’d rent a car so I can move freely along the coast and stop in different towns. I may be going solo, as some friends are hesitant. What I’m looking for: Beautiful beaches (lots of them) Walkable towns with scenic views Some history/cultural visits Safe for a solo traveler Relaxing, peaceful overall vibe I’ve never been to France before. I’ve heard mixed opinions on Marseille for solo travel, so I’m unsure whether to include it. If I rent a car, I’d love to do a continuous coastal route with nice stops along the way. I'm even thinking of landing in Paris and taking a car from there... Thoughts? Open to any recommendations for towns, itineraries, do's and dont's, or just hearing about your experience! Thank you in advance :) EDIT: I'm also open to picking a base and taking the train/bus to different areas! I realized that's what most people do. submitted by /u/Mundane-Macaron-8942 [link] [comments]
- Advice on Itinerary for Cannes, St Tropez, South of France in late May/Early JunePlease give me honest feedback of things we can skip/not skip. I would especially appreciate recommentations on wineries in luberon region. We have a car as well, willing to spend a bit to make esperience better where possible. I am aware its a very jampacked itinerary. My wife is in residency and gets like no time off so trying to make the most of it. Toulouse also may seem like a curve ball for most but we have some personal ties there and I want to put it on our trip, so that has added to the chaos: Saturday May 30: - Arrive in afternoon - Dinner at Table 22 (open to changing this) had also looked at Yvonnes or Resto Nananere Sunday May 31: - AM: Private boat leaving from Nice - Lunch: In villefranche sur mer (Dry or La mere Germaine but open to suggestions) - PM Activity: explore Old Town - Dinner/Drinks: Le rooftop maison du bacon Monday June 1: - AM: Pool/Beach at hotel - Lunch: Explore Cannes town walkaround casual lunch - Early PM: Drive to St Tropez (2 hrs) - Evening: Walk around St Tropez - Dinner; Kinugawa Tuesday June 2: - AM: Pool/Beach at Hotel - Early afternoon: Walk around Old town - Lunch: Loulou/Casa Amour/Le 55 (open to suggestions) - Dinner: Le Palmiers (Open to suggestions) - Evening: Drinks at hotel Wednesday June 3: - AM/Lunch: Quiet picnic on beach or in town - Afternoon/dinner: Wine tasting and dinner at Fondugues Pradugues -Evening: Drive to Luberon (3 hrs) Thursday June 4: - All day: Wine Tour in Luberon/Avignon (Would appreciate any recommendations on vineyards or providers. I think we prefer something private or semi private for the touring. A hired car or whatnot is fine, planned events/tastings is better - Early evening: Pool or spa at hotel - Dinner: Clover Friday June 5: - AM: Market at Gordes or Lacoste - Lunch: Picnic at domaine de fonteneille - PM: Drive to Toulouse (5hrs) maybe stop along way at montpellier or elsewhere - Dinner: Michel Sarran Saturday June 6: - AM: Shopping - Lunch: Casual somewhere - PM: Salon de the in the city - Dinner: Genty Magre - Evening Activity: TBD Sunday: - Cafe and flight out submitted by /u/capnjake5 [link] [comments]
- Antibes vs Hyeres vs ??? - for a relaxing beach holidayMy partner and I (late 20s) are planning a week-long beach holiday in the south of France in early July. The primary goal is relaxing on the beach for me, though my partner prefers something more active like learning kite surfing or similar activities. We'd like to do one or more boat trips like a group catamaran trip somewhere to snorkel / enjoy being on a boat with drinks. We're also big foodies and would appreciate good restaurants... We're looking for a town where we won't need a car to get to dinner, not too overrun with children, and overall relaxing vibes. Our budget is around €250/night for accomodation, so won't be able to afford places like st Tropez since I want to be as close to the beach as possible! Also any recommendations for boating trips appreciated! submitted by /u/Cranberry_Kitten [link] [comments]
- Thoughts on our honeymoon itinerary?Hello! We'll be taking a ~3-week honeymoon this September (maybe into early October). A bit about us: We enjoy walkable cities/towns with nice parks/green spaces, beaches, good food, coffee, wine, and cocktails! We prefer going to a nice wine bar or chill bar/lounge over a club. Right now we're for sure want to go to France and Spain, but are deciding between Italy and Portugal. Here's our rough itinerary: Fly into Paris for 4-5 nights (have been here before) Take the train to Cassis for 3 nights If we choose Italy: Fly to Milan for 3-4 nights Take the train to Bologna for 3-4 nights Fly to Barcelona for 3-4 nights (have been before) Take the train to Valencia (3-4 nights) Fly home (either from Valencia or travel back to Barcelona) If we choose Portugal: Fly from Cassis/Nice to Barcelona Take the train to Valencia Fly to Libson (4-5 nights, have been before) and likely take a day trip to Cascais. Fly home (Southern California) Also open to other city recommendations! Thanks! submitted by /u/tayyylooor [link] [comments]
