Traveling with Friend in Europe
Our take
Hey adventurers! My friend and I, both 18, are kicking off an epic 10-night journey through Europe! We’re flying into Amsterdam, then hopping on trains to Berlin, and wrapping up in Prague. We’re super excited to dive into the nightlife and connect with new friends while soaking up the stunning sights of these cities. We’d love to hear your thoughts on our itinerary! Should we swap any cities? And where should we spend the most time—especially since Berlin is buzzing with a vibrant social scene?
My friend and I (both 18yrs and male) are traveling Europe for 10 nights. We are thinking of flying into Amsterdam, then training to Berlin and finishing off with Prague. We are excited to go out at night and meet people, while also experiencing the beauty of these European cities.
I’m curious about
What people think about that selection. Are there any cities we should sub in? We are planning on taking trains and staying in hostels.
What city we should stay in for the longest? I’ve heard that Berlin is the best for social scene, so should we prioritize spending most time there?

- Planning itinerary for Europe trip from late December to early Feb - How does my itinerary look? Any suggestions? This will be our first trip to Europe M28 & F27. Is there any countries or cities you think are worth adding/removing from our itinerary? Pro's/cons? We were also exploring other countries like Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden etc, however, they are quite costly & a bit out of the way in our itinerary. We would ideally prefer to get trains where we can. *London, UK - 5 NIGHTS *Edinburgh, Scotland - 3 NIGHTS *Paris, France - 3 NIGHTS (considering cutting this & doing a day trip from London) *Prague, Czech Republic - 3 NIGHTS *Vienna, Austria - 4 NIGHTS *Krakow, Poland - 3 NIGHTS *Rome, Italy - 5 NIGHTS *Florence, Italy - 3 NIGHTS *Athens, Greece - 5 NIGHTS submitted by /u/traylahtrash [link] [comments]
- Solo Europe trip (June–July) – loose plan, train-heavy. What would you tweak + what’s actually fun to do travelling by myself?Hey guys, Planning my first proper solo trip across Europe around my visit to sister's place in Utrecht , Nehterlans.. Roughly 6–7 weeks. Not trying to over-plan everything, just setting a loose route and figuring things out on the go. Rough route: Netherlands (Utrecht/Amsterdam/Rotterdam) → Belgium/ Luxembourg/North France from my sisters place Bonn (visiting a friend)/Frankfurt → Prague → Budapest → Vienna reach Stockholm. ferry to → Helsinki (an architecture tour in Finland) Anchor points Trying to mostly use trains, avoid too many flights, and keep it flexible. Mix of hostels + occasional comfortable stays. Need some real-world inputs: Route sanity check Does this flow make sense or am I doing something obviously inefficient? Too many cities? Prague, Budapest, Vienna — keep all 3 or cut one? Train is a good idea? Especially Vienna → Stockholm. Staying central but not broke Any solid areas to stay in: Prague / Budapest / Vienna / Stockholm More importantly: If you’ve done solo travel in Europe — what actually makes it good? Not generic sightseeing. Things that are genuinely better alone Experiences that don’t feel awkward solo Places/activities where being solo is actually an advantage. Not looking for a packed checklist. Just trying to avoid dumb mistakes and make the trip feel less like ticking boxes and more like a solid solo experience. Also looking to have a different perspective to life / work (i am an architect) etc. submitted by /u/nikhiljp44 [link] [comments]
- Prague, Vienna and Budapest or Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Brussels?Doing a two week trip in the beginning of August and can’t decide on an itinerary (I have a route planned for either one, starting in Germany). I know the second one is going to be more expensive but are the locations worth the extra cost? Looking for thoughts and opinions from people who have been to these locations! I’m also going with someone with limited mobility if that changes anything. Was thinking about renting scooters to help with that. Thanks! submitted by /u/New_Flow_125 [link] [comments]
- 2 weeks in Copenhagen, where else to go?My partner and I (both men in our early 40s, no kids) are going to Copenhagen for the first time. We'll be there for about 2 weeks in late June/early July. We'd like to add on a 4-5 day excursion to another city, ideally on a weekend so we can experience some night life. So far we are considering either Berlin, Stockholm, or maybe Amsterdam but I was curious if any travelers here might have some advice! submitted by /u/iyamthewallruss [link] [comments]
