Hi All!
My wife and I are planning a trip to Switzerland in June to celebrate our anniversary. While we’ve perused many blogs (CN Traveller, Swiss Traveler) and Reddit posts, most have advised on winter time and not summer time.
Our biggest concern right now is whether this is the best split between the cities and towns we’re traveling (and if we’re missing anything). We would love any feedback from locals or those that have been!
Day 1: land in Zurich (evening time), settle in and check out the Old Town.
Day 2: Full day in Zurich (suggestions welcome on must see things)
Day 3-5: Travel, explore Lauterbrunnen, leave for Zermatt evening of Day 5.
For Lauterbrunnen: any suggestions on where to stay in both Lauterbrunnen (between the valley, Grindelwald, and Mürren)
Day 6-7: Zermatt (suggestions welcome on must see things)
For Zermatt: we’ve seen many posts about Cervo, Omnia, etc
Day 8: Train to Lucerne, sightsee during day and stay night in Lucerne
Day 9: Fly out of Zurich

Schynige Platte? Harder Kulm? - Zurich to Rome 11 night itinerary with 5 year old very confusedHi everyone! I’ve changed my trip itinerary a thousand times by now and my brain is fried. Please help me divide up my 11 nights between Switzerland, Florence, and Rome. Potentially Milan if needed to break up travel. About us- 2 adults and a 5 year old. Safety and relaxation very important to us. We want to see beautiful sights, have great food, and access to local shopping. We will not be hiking or doing anything adventurous. One thing we really are excited about is Bernina express train but I don’t know how to fit that into our itinerary if we are on the western side of Switzerland. Current plan- Switzerland 4-5 nights Florence- 3 nights Rome- 3 nights I am confused about where to stay in Switzerland and if we need to switch hotels at some point to make our way south. Or do we stay in one spot? Should we just forget about bernina express or is there an efficient way to make it work? And can we go straight to Florence or should we really be stopping in Milan for a night? Everything I’m reading says to stay in Lucern and then go to Wengen and then to Florence. This wouldn’t allow for Bernina and would be a long travel day to Florence. But is it the right thing to do? Any thoughts are appreciated! - 3 Days in SwitzerlandThis is still one of the must fun trips I’ve ever had despite it being so short! I know a lot of people aren’t fans of very fast-paced travel (neither am I usually) but I had limited time and still managed to enjoy every moment of my time there! This does not include flying days - I arrived late at night and left early in the morning. (This was October 2024 by the way) Day 1: Geneva Day 2: Bern + Lucerne Day 3: Grindelwald + Lauterbrunnen We woke up around 5am every morning and got back at midnight most days. Took the trains everywhere with some sort of discounted student ticket (my friend sorted these out so not too sure about it). - Swiss Areas?Hey, Looking to solo travel to Switzerland, mainly for scenery/hikes, my second option was Norway. However, I always hear people say that Interlaken isnt the best spot to go to, as its over touristy etc, as well as Grindelwald.
