Spain itinerary - 1 week
Our take
Hey everyone! Exciting news—my boyfriend and I are heading to Spain for a week at the end of April! We’ll land at Barcelona airport on Sunday at 11 AM and fly back on Friday at 8 PM. Since it's our first time in Spain, we want to make the most of our trip. We’re planning to spend a few days in Barcelona, but we're curious about whether it’s worth exploring other calmer locations. Any suggestions for day trips or overnight stays without renting a car?
Hi guys!
Me and my bf are going to Spain for almost a week, end of April.
We are arriving at Barcelona airport Sunday 11am, and our flight back is on Friday at 8pm.
We've never been to Spain before so we'd like some help on how to plan our trip.
A few days in Barcelona and then is it worth going anywhere else in the short time we have, perhaps to some "calmer" location? Day trips or even overnight trips? We ideally do not want to rent a car.
Thanks

- 2-3 nights in Costa Brava (no car)Hi! My girlfriend and I are booking a one week vacation to Spain. We will fly into Barcelona, spend 5 nights there, breaking it up with 2 nights in Costa Brava in the middle. We are struggling to pick which town is the best for our purposes. We want to be able to go to beautiful beaches with a scenic town, great restaurants, etc. we won’t have a car either, plan to take a bus from Barcelona to wherever we choose (and then taxi if we have to). Please help us choose a place!!! Thank you for your tips! submitted by /u/Haunting_Snow_7509 [link] [comments]
- First time solo travelling to Spain for 15 days, would love some adviceSo I'll be travelling to Barcelona for a conference in May and decided to extend a trip to explore Spain as I've heard wonderful things about it's culture and cuisine. I've also heard that Catalonia and central/South Spain have a completely different culture, so planning to explore both. My rough itinerary: Barcelona – 4 days Girona / Costa Brava – 3 days (planning to visit Lloret de Mar and Palafrugell, not sure where to base myself though) Valencia – 2 days Madrid – 3 days (with a day trip to Toledo or Segovia) Seville – 3 days (Would it be recommended to go on a day trip to Malaga or Granda) Barcelona – 1 day (before return flight) This is my first time travelling solo for this long, I would appreciate advice/tips for travel between cities/Internal transport within cities(I'm paranoid about missing trains lmao), any train passes I should be considering, cost saving trips(I'm a 21 year old student), luggage advice, or food considerations(I love trying new food). I am also open to reconsidering the itinerary(But i don't want to miss out on Madrid and Sevilla atleast) Planning to stay mostly in hostels. Happy to hear any general insights too(things you wish you'd known, some musts in specific cities, things to avoid etc...). submitted by /u/Leading_Daikon_1506 [link] [comments]
- Southern Spain Trip AdviceHello, I want to plan a trip to Spain between May 13 and May 26 or May 29 and June 10. I want to know what you guys think the best days to go would be and are most budget-friendly. I want to go for about 7 days and am thinking of these cities. Málaga → Granada → Sevilla With a possible day trip to Cordoba. Do you guys think this is a good idea, without it feeling rushed? Also, roughly how much would this cost (accommodation and food-wise), and what are the places that are a MUST to visit? Any help is greatly appreciated. Planning is hard :) submitted by /u/Informal_Carpenter16 [link] [comments]
- Spain vs Spain + Portugal (15 days, mid-June) — itinerary feedback?Hi, I’ve been reading past threads, but I’m still unsure how to structure this trip and would really appreciate some feedback. Trip details: ~15 days total (mid-June, somewhat flexible) Flying from the US (likely into Barcelona, out of Lisbon) Budget: mid-range (mix of hotels + occasional nicer stays) Interests: food, walkable cities, history, some architecture, not big on rushing or checking boxes What I’ve researched so far: I came up with two rough options: Option A (Spain only): Barcelona (4 days) Madrid (3 days) Seville (3–4 days) Granada (2 days) Option B (Spain + Portugal): Barcelona (3–4 days) Seville (3 days) Lisbon (3 days) Porto (2–3 days) My questions: Does Option B feel too rushed given the travel time between Spain and Portugal? If sticking to Spain, would you prioritize Granada over somewhere like Valencia or more time in Madrid? Any adjustments you’d make to improve pacing? submitted by /u/Existential_boba9352 [link] [comments]
