This itinerary captures the essence of exploration; starting in Venice, the family has the chance to soak in the rich history and vibrant culture of the city. The boat tour to the colorful islands of Murano and Burano is a stellar way to engage the kids, allowing them to marvel at glass-making and vibrant houses while embracing the spirit of adventure. As Day 3 unfolds with a visit to the da Vinci Museum and Doge's Palace, we see a clever blend of education and fun, ensuring that learning is woven seamlessly into the travel experience. This is particularly important for young minds, as it fosters curiosity and appreciation for art and history, setting the stage for the adventures ahead.
Transitioning to Lake Como adds a layer of stunning natural beauty and outdoor fun to the trip. The train journey from Venice to Varenna is not only practical but also an opportunity for the family to bond, sharing excitement about their next destination. Activities like visiting Castello di Vizio and exploring Orrido di Bellano on Day 5 allow the family to connect with nature, promoting a sense of adventure and wonder. Day trips to Bellagio and Menaggio, where the family can indulge in local cuisine and explore charming streets, are perfect for creating cherished family moments. As seen in itineraries like Italy itinerary end of August- 2 weeks, the balance between exploration and relaxation is crucial for maintaining family harmony during travels.
The journey through Switzerland, particularly the ride on the Bernina Express, offers a breathtaking experience that will likely leave the kids in awe. This leg of the trip not only showcases the scenic beauty but also provides an exciting mode of transportation that feels like part of the adventure itself. Engaging in activities like the chocolate tour in Lucerne and hiking around Mount Pilatus will keep the energy high and the spirits even higher. These experiences will cultivate a love for travel and exploration in the children, instilling values of adventure and curiosity that last a lifetime.
As families consider this itinerary, it's essential to remain flexible and open to spontaneous adventures. The allure of travel lies in the unexpected moments and connections made along the way. How will this trip inspire the family to discover new places and cultures? With such a vibrant journey ahead, the excitement is palpable. - Zurich to Rome 11 night itinerary with 5 year old very confusedHi everyone! I’ve changed my trip itinerary a thousand times by now and my brain is fried. Please help me divide up my 11 nights between Switzerland, Florence, and Rome. Potentially Milan if needed to break up travel. About us- 2 adults and a 5 year old. Safety and relaxation very important to us. We want to see beautiful sights, have great food, and access to local shopping. We will not be hiking or doing anything adventurous. One thing we really are excited about is Bernina express train but I don’t know how to fit that into our itinerary if we are on the western side of Switzerland. Current plan- Switzerland 4-5 nights Florence- 3 nights Rome- 3 nights I am confused about where to stay in Switzerland and if we need to switch hotels at some point to make our way south. Or do we stay in one spot? Should we just forget about bernina express or is there an efficient way to make it work? And can we go straight to Florence or should we really be stopping in Milan for a night? Everything I’m reading says to stay in Lucern and then go to Wengen and then to Florence. This wouldn’t allow for Bernina and would be a long travel day to Florence. But is it the right thing to do? Any thoughts are appreciated! I am usually good at planning trips but this one has really tired my brain out. Thank you! As submitted by /u/myunexplainedlife [link] [comments]
- Italy itinerary end of August- 2 weeksPlanning below trip with a 2 YO, I will be in 2nd trimester. Fly into Milan out of Boston -land early AM August 22 - fly out Sep 05 or 06. 4 nights- drive to lake Garda ( might do a day trip to Verona or Venice depending on jet lag) 5 nights- Dolomites- booked Monte Pana hotel 4 nights- Modena (trying to look for a farm stay near by) 1-2 nights in Milan before flying out. Will stay near the airport to catch the flight. Not planning to do any sight seeing. If we are not tired by the end of 2 weeks, might stroll around city center if we have 1 full day. Planning to rent the car from the airport. Atleast to drag the luggage from point A to B and easier nap times. Once at the location, we can take the public transport. I haven’t gotten as far as looking into how we will spend the day. But I would love input on the above itinerary if anything I should skip or replace. Our son loves to walk, explore, enjoys the parks, loves pizza pasta and ice creams! Love farm animals at this age. We are celebrating both our birthday during this trip so would love any recommendations for a photoshoot. submitted by /u/pinkyj123 [link] [comments]
- Switzerland Itinerary FeedbackHi All! My wife and I are planning a trip to Switzerland in June to celebrate our anniversary. While we’ve perused many blogs (CN Traveller, Swiss Traveler) and Reddit posts, most have advised on winter time and not summer time. Our biggest concern right now is whether this is the best split between the cities and towns we’re traveling (and if we’re missing anything). We would love any feedback from locals or those that have been! Day 1: land in Zurich (evening time), settle in and check out the Old Town. Day 2: Full day in Zurich (suggestions welcome on must see things) Day 3-5: Travel, explore Lauterbrunnen, leave for Zermatt evening of Day 5. For Lauterbrunnen: any suggestions on where to stay in both Lauterbrunnen (between the valley, Grindelwald, and Mürren) Day 6-7: Zermatt (suggestions welcome on must see things) For Zermatt: we’ve seen many posts about Cervo, Omnia, etc Day 8: Train to Lucerne, sightsee during day and stay night in Lucerne Day 9: Fly out of Zurich Many thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Past_Bathroom_627 [link] [comments]
- Rome nov tripHello everyone, we will be traveling to Italy, November 24 to December 1. I’ll be fine from the southeast USA and will fly into Rome and will also plan on flying out of Rome. I’m traveling with three young kids who are age 11 nine and five we prefer to travel slow and not do too much at once. I’m just starting my research on Italy. At this time, I’m leaning towards spending the entire time in Rome. I’m undecided as if I should go to Florence for one night in between. If I do that, I think I will just bring a small bag with me with our stuff and the kids stuff and just keep our accommodations in Rome so we don’t have to pack up everything. My basic plan is this. November 25 no plans, just walk around the hotel. I will likely be staying at FH 55 grand. Hotel is not booked yet, but towards this as it has appeared to have family accommodations. November 26 golf cart tour in the morning and relax the rest of the day November 27 Colosseum tour take it easy rest of the day, just explore November 28 catacomb tour, explore rest of the day November 29 hang out at villa borghese November 30 vatican tour December 1 return home What are your thoughts? I believe the hotel is in the monti area. Overall plan is to do one big thing a day and then just take it easy the rest of the day explore and go with the kids pace submitted by /u/Senior-Jelly1099 [link] [comments]
