Using R / Python / Julia functions directly inside Excel (working prototype)

I’ve been working on an Excel add-in that lets you call R, Python, or Julia functions directly from Excel cells.

Basic idea:

  • Pass Excel ranges into the function
  • Run code in R / Python / Julia
  • Return results (values, arrays, or plots)

A few examples:

Run R code
=REval("mean(c(1,2,3,4))")

Create a plot
=RPlot("plot(c(1,2,3,4))", "test", 800, 600)

It also works with multiple data series and more complex code (e.g., ggplot).

You can always copy/paste between tools — the goal here is just to extend Excel a bit and make it easier to test or plug in new functionality.
