App that has been helping me with my chickens protection

Its called Merlin Bird Id on the appstore and what it does is it can listen to all the bird calls around you and identify what they are. Its really neat knowing what all the birds around are but it also has taught me what the predator birds sound like.

It has a pokemon style life list of all the birds your supposed to record but it identifys Hawks and eagles very well.

A few times already Ive walked outside heard a screech popped the app out and saw it was a brown shoulder hawk so I kept my chickens in that day. 😅

This app has shown me that I have alot of Hawks and kestrals around my area and I now know what to listen for. Im not associated with this app but it has helped me understand my surroundings so much better since I started free ranging.
