Why do you travel?

Our take

Travel is a deeply personal journey, often shaped by our unique perspectives and experiences. While some may criticize the trend of seeking popular photo spots for clout, it's important to recognize that every adventure offers a chance to discover the unexpected. For me, it's the little differences that truly captivate, like drivers stopping for pedestrians in Santiago or the charming sight of dogs in sweaters in La Paz.

I saw a post earlier that complained about whether a destination was worth traveling to because it was overly populated with people obsessed with getting a picture in a popular spot and it got me wondering. Travel is such a personal experience but it is also a way for people to brag, flaunt, or otherwise feel superior and collect the pictures to prove it, which honestly, I’m okay with. Travel, even for clout, will give experience. For me, it’s always being surprised by the little differences. In Santiago, the drivers will always stop when you’re waiting to cross the road. In La Paz they put sweaters on all their dogs. In Budapest, no one will cross the road till the light says it’s okay. It’s the everyday things that blow me away.
