Are you curious about the turnaround time for a US Passport renewal? I recently submitted my application online on Monday, April 20, and I’m excited to share that my new passport arrived just five days later! I didn’t opt for expedited processing, so this is a fantastic result. However, keep in mind that as we approach summer, processing times may increase, and you cannot travel on your current passport once you submit your renewal. Get those applications in early to avoid any last-minute stress!
For those wondering how long a US Passport renewal just took me - I submitted mine online Monday, April 20 late in the day. I did NOT pay for expedited processing. It is arriving in today’s mail, only 6 5 days later!
Turn around times will probably get longer as we approach summer. You cannot travel on your current passport (even if unexpired) once you submit your renewal application, you need to wait for the new one, so get it done now!
