Traveling to Slovenia via Eurail?

Our take

Planning a summer adventure from Florence to Slovenia and then on to Romania? That sounds epic! Arriving in Ljubljana gives you a fantastic base, but with so many picturesque spots in Slovenia, it’s tough to choose. You’ll want to soak in the vibrant culture and stunning landscapes while keeping travel logistics smooth. If you had five days to explore, what charming locations would you consider staying in to fully enjoy Slovenia’s magic without missing out on the ease of traveling? Let’s dive into the options!

I’ll be traveling to Slovenia from Florence and then from Slovenia to Romania this summer via train. Given that I’ll be arriving in Ljubljana and departing from there, I am wondering if it makes the most sense to find lodging there. However, I am conflicted because I feel I would be missing out on so much if I didn’t stay somewhere more picturesque. If you had 5 days in Slovenia, where would you stay to capitalize on what Slovenia has to offer without sacrificing logistics?
