Stay away from any Vacasa properties on Airbnb

Our take

If you're considering booking a Vacasa property on Airbnb, think again! After a disappointing experience years ago with an unclean rental, I foolishly decided to give them another chance this Mother's Day weekend. My wife, our young toddler, and I arrived at a Colorado condo only to be given the wrong entry code, forcing us to wait outside for 30 minutes. When we finally got in, the place was a mess—towels and dishes everywhere, just like my previous experience.

This is the second time I fell for the Vacasa trap. About 3-4 years ago, I booked a Vacasa property that wasn't cleaned when we checked in. First and only time that happened so I swore them off.

Fast forward to this Mother's Day weekend and I decided to roll the dice again... bad idea. My wife and I with our young toddler rented an Airbnb in Colorado with a property managed by Vacasa. They gave us the wrong code to enter the condo building. So I had to wait 30 minutes with a tired toddler only for the solution from Vacasa support to be, "just wait until someone leaves then walk in." Finally get in and.... the place wasn't cleaned again! It was like the last guest just left. Towels and dishes everywhere. Bedroom in complete disarray. Vacasa then tried to process a partial refund. Unbelievable at every turn. Just don't do it.
