Rare Vietjet Win

I know a lot of people strongly don’t recommend flying Vietjet, but I bit the bullet and tried it because even their “business class” was way cheaper than Vietnam airlines. I bought their “skyboss” fare, and honestly, it was pretty good. I paid $103.75 per person one way from HAN-SGN at 6:05-8:05 pm. It’s high for this route but I booked quite late and bc of expensive jet fuel prices.

They gave us access to the priority security (the line was long maybe saved us 20 minutes), 1 piece of 30kg baggage, priority baggage and check-in, the SH priority lounge (also accessible with priority pass so I personally didn’t need it), and a private shuttle to the airplane from the check in counter. The service was actually quite good with 2 dedicated flight attendants and they helped us put our carry ons into the top storage. They gave us waters as a welcome drink and gave us a vegetarian meal for free (included in skyboss fare but you can pay for other options). The leg room was actually quite good (I’m 5’10) and still had a lot of room left over. The seat was mid, like a premium economy seat on United or Frontier business.

I saw a lot of horror stories about this domestic route and delays, but my plane actually arrived 4m early, and my flighty was saying that it’s only early/on time around 42% of the time (take that info with what you will because it’s definitely a gamble to take this airline).

What’s funny is they gave me a special gift because it’s my birth month in May (I never signed up for a Vietjet account). They gave me an option between a Vietjet passport cover or a universal charging cable. I took the passport cover.

TLDR; Took a gamble using Vietjet, paid $103 usd for skyboss fare, pretty good service, surprise birthday gift for birth month, arrived early to SGN
