Portugal Itinerary Recommendations
Our take

| I (type B, female) will be experiencing my first solo trip for my 30th this summer. Attached is a photo of my drafted itinerary -- my main questions are: Am I spending enough time in Porto based on my interests? Are my possible day trips doable from each city considering I won't have a car? Which day trips are a must do and which ones should I skip? Are Airbnb's an okay idea for longer stays in Porto and Lisbon? (I would like to save a few bucks and not eat out for every meal, so having a kitchen would be cool) Are there any areas I should avoid as a solo female traveler? Finally -- any other recommendations of "must do's," places to eat/drink, nightlife are very appreciated! TYIA! [link] [comments] |

- First solo trip to Portugal (June 20-29). Faro and Lisbon help?Hey everyone! I’m heading back to Portugal this June for my first solo trip. I loved Porto and Caparica a few years ago, so I’m doing 3 days each in Faro, Porto, and Lisbon from the 20th to the 29th. I’m not worried about the Porto leg—I’ve done São João before and I’m ready for the chaos—but I could use some help with the other two cities since I won't have a car. Faro (June 20-23): I really want to just chill on the beach but also see the Old Town and the street food stalls for the saints' festivals. • Should I stay out on the beach strip (Praia de Faro) or in the city center near the Marina? • I’m leaning toward the center so I can just hop on the ferries to the islands (Deserta/Farol) during the day and walk to dinner at night, but is the beach strip too isolated if I don't have a car? Lisbon (June 26-29): I’m looking for a neighborhood that’s social. I’m torn between Príncipe Real and Baixa. Which one is better for a solo traveler who wants to walk most places? Would love any low-key food or bar spots for a solo traveler. Thanks! submitted by /u/ifuaguyugetsauced [link] [comments]
- Help with Portugal and Azores. 2 weeks. ItineraryHello, I plan to go to Portugal and Azores for 2 weeks in early June. I will be landing in Lisbon. I will also depart from Lisbon when the 2 weeks ends. Now, my question is, how much time should I budget for seeing the Azores and Portugal? Would it make sense to go to Azores first or middle or end of my trip? Little background: I am solo travelling (first time), introvert, not interested in night life and I do not drink so not too interested in Douro Valley. I want to see a lot of Portugal, not just Lisbon. How would you recommend I structure my itinerary? Any places I shouldn't miss and/or can miss? I am very early into making my itinerary so I would appreciate any and all suggestions! Thanks! submitted by /u/eudusu [link] [comments]
- Itinerary Advice - Spain/PortugalHey everyone, Wondering what you all think of the following. I have 8 days to spend in mid/late June in Spain/Portugal and the 3 places/cities that we (my wife and I) are most interested in are San Sebastian, Porto, and Lisbon. I'm thinking it'll probably be rushed if we do all 3 in that amount of time, so I'm looking to narrow it down to 2 of the 3, but am having trouble. We're in our early 30s and enjoy a ton of different things including: food - restaurants/bars/coffee shops, culture/sightseeing, walking around cities, beaches, hiking/nature, night life and more. Any and all thoughts and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! submitted by /u/BonsaiCrazed13 [link] [comments]
- Second guessing our itinerary in PortugalWe are going to Portugal May 17-23 and second guessing our itinerary, would love advice! Current plan: Fly into Lisbon → train to Porto (3 nights) → train back to Lisbon (3 nights) → fly home from Lisbon. But now I’m wondering if this is too much back-and-forth and if we’re losing time in transit. Would it be more relaxing / a better use of time to: Just fly into Porto and stay in that region the whole trip? Or fly into Porto and out of Lisbon (one-way), so we don’t have to double back? We want to maximize our time actually enjoying Portugal (food, wine, and wandering) vs sitting going back and forth. I am more of a relaxed traveler. For those who’ve done it—what would you recommend? Is splitting time between Porto + Lisbon worth it, or better to slow it down and stick to one area? If we should stick to Porto, would love recommendations for the area. We are planning on visiting Douro Valley. Any tips welcome 🙏 submitted by /u/Mindless_Lynx_6882 [link] [comments]
