My photo storage reminded me of this road trip I did about a year ago in northern Argentina and decided to share. The trip was pretty spontaneous and I only knew about Campo de Piedra Pómez place beforehand. It turned out to be much more than that with much more variety of landscapes than I expected and many of them looked like a movie sets for different planets.

The first photo is a large white sand dune on the way to Campo de Piedra Pómez.

The second is Laguna Verde with unusual colors and mineral textures.

The third is from Campo de Piedra Pómez itself - looks like frozen waves in the dark sand desert.

The fourth photo is from the Desierto del Diablo, driving here gave strong Mad Max vibes.

The fifth and sixth are of some random spots along the way.

A lot of the area is quite remote and at high altitude.
