Moving from US to EU (Poland) with a large collection of PNW boots — Customs concerns?

Our take

Hey everyone! I’m gearing up for an exciting move from the US to Poland and need some advice. As a passionate heritage boot collector, I own around eight pairs of PNW boots (like White’s and Nicks). I’m worried about EU customs and whether bringing my entire collection will lead to complications at the border, especially since they’re high-value items. Has anyone navigated moving with a large hobby collection? Should I pack them in my luggage or consider shipping them separately as personal effects?

Hi everyone,
I’m planning a permanent move from the US to Poland. I’m a heritage boot enthusiast and currently own about 8 pairs of PNW boots (White’s, Nicks, etc.).
I'm concerned about EU customs. If I bring my entire collection (mostly used/worn, but expensive), will I face issues at the border? I’ve heard stories about customs suspecting "intent to sell" due to the high value of these brands.
Has anyone moved with a large "hobby" collection of heavy footwear? Should I ship them separately as personal effects or just pack them in my checked luggage? I’m considering downsizing to just 2-3 pairs to avoid headaches, but I’d hate to leave my favorites behind.
Any advice on how to declare them or if "well-worn" status truly helps avoid import duties? Thanks!
