Montreal/Budapest Return Traveling

Our take

Hey, adventure seekers! As my birthday approaches, I'm torn between revisiting the vibrant streets of Montreal or Budapest, where I’ve already spent a week soaking up the culture, and exploring somewhere new like NYC or Vancouver. While Montreal offers the perk of hotel benefits through my job, I’m feeling the itch to discover fresh experiences. Have any of you faced the dilemma of returning to a beloved city versus venturing into the unknown? I’d love your thoughts and advice on this exciting travel decision!

I’ve been trying to throw together a trip for my birthday end of this month. I’m wrestling with going someplace new or returning to a city I liked. The issue in my head is that a couple of these cities (Montreal and Budapest) aren’t that large and I spent a week roughly in each one. Part of me feels I should go somewhere new, maybe like NYC or Vancouver, and that maybe I’ve sort of seen and experienced the major highlights.

Part of the reason for a place like Montreal is that I work for a company where there are some accommodations (hotels) benefits. Unfortunately there isn’t a hotel in Vancouver and the NYC hotels are always fully booked out.

Anybody else wrestle with returning somewhere vs going someplace new? Advice/thoughts?
